Half day Tour to West Bank from Luxor is an adventure to explore the fascinating ancient sites of Luxor’s West Bank. This tour offers a glimpse into the rich history and culture of ancient Egypt, allowing you to witness the iconic temples and tombs that have captivated travelers for centuries.
Visit the Valley of the worker, Medinet Habu Temple, Ramesseum temple, and Carter House.
In the early morning, our representative will pick you up from your Luxor hotel or Nile Cruise. Then you will be transferred to the west bank.
First, you will visit Medinet Habu Temple the most impressive funerary temple of Ramses the 3rd and the largest archaeological site after Karnak.
Then you will visit the valley of the artisans or Deir el-Medina (the monastery of the town). The valley of the artisans includes the village and the tombs of the artisans. Located at the bottom of the valley, the village itself is surrounded by a wall. Its inhabitants lived apart from the rest of the region and were supplied directly by the Pharaoh’s administration. The precise location of the workplace of the artisans (quarry workers, stonecutters, engravers, painters …), as well as the purpose of their occupation, were kept secret. The most interesting to visit is Sennedjem with its paintings.
Then visit Ramesseum Temple which located on the West Bank of Luxor. It originally served as the mortuary temple of Ramses II, whose 67-year rule saw the creation of many fabulous public buildings and architectural wonders.
Then move to visit Carter House, The domed mud-brick house where Howard Carter lived during his search for Tutankhamun’s tomb is surrounded by a garden on what is otherwise a barren slope above the road from Deir Al Bahri to the Valley of the Kings. The house has been restored and decorated with pictures and tools of the excavation. An exact replica of Tutankhamun’s burial chamber has been constructed on the edge of the garden along with an exhibition relating to the discovery of the tomb.
